Centennial Olympic Games: Sponsor Brand Showcases & Spectator Villages
Rick Hill was engaged by The Atlanta Committee for the Hames of the XXVI Olympiad to create a strategic plan for the creation of sponsor and spectator villages adjacent to the Olympic Stadium and in downtown Atlanta. He teamed with Harrison Alan “Buzz” Price, who is known as the chief economic advisor to Walt Disney on the siting of Disneyland and Walt Disney World, to conduct the market research and economic analysis for the strategy. Design concepts were created with the assistance of Communication Arts.
A marketing “look book” with maps, illustrations, and plans was developed following the completion of strategic plan. The look book was used to market sponsorship opportunities to the founding primary sponsor.
Centennial Olympic Village in downtown Atlanta successfully operated before the games, during the games, and after the games. It is now a permanent downtown park in Atlanta.
