J. Richard Hill & Co. has played a major role in the revitalization of North Third Street, the Main Street of the Bardstown, Kentucky, which is designated as the Bourbon Capital of the World. Over a 25-year period, the company has produced comprehensive revitalization plans for North Third Street anchored by a Romanesque Court House and Courthouse Square, the 225-year-old Talbot Tavern, and the J. Richard Hill & Co. design-directed 3rd & Broadway Park, now under construction.
In 2012, after implementation of the Main Street Improvement Plan, Bardstown was voted by Rand McNalley and USA Today as the most beautiful small town in America.
In recent years, over 25 new businesses have opened on or just off of Bardstown’s North Third Street along with a boutique hotel, brewery, new condos, and loft apartments.
J. Richard Hill & Co. has conducted extensive market research, economic modeling, design studies, urban plans, and developed revitalization plans leading to the extensive public and private investment into the town’s historic district.
